GET YOURSELF AN EDUCATION

First part

For this assignment we were tasked to examine the visual communication of design educational institutions Master’s programmes. This assignment was split into two parts, the first part included thoroughly researching and analysing the visual communication of at least three design-education collages or universities that offer a Master’s Programme in Design, and recognise the methods that they use to persuade us with their UI/UX design. For this part we also had to create a survey about our three chosen schools and present our findings trough infographics.

Second part

The second part of the assignment was to then pick one of these three websites that seemed as the least appealing one, and redesign their website, both on a desktop format and on a mobile device format. The only constraints we had in this project was that we were not allowed to change the branding of the chosen university.

For the word personality my concept was “Multiplicity in Melody” and it is inspired by how a person may display different personalities based on context, surroundings, or emotional state, and how music, may embody various identities as well, through its different tempos, genres, and lyrical themes. A song might begin soft and mellow, then suddenly shift into something bold and powerful, or even mix different genres all in one track. Each change is like a different side of the artist, or maybe how the listener might feel at different moments. The execution for this was to design an album cover that visually represented the concept.

For the word beauty my concept was “Enhancing Life”. It focused on brightening up everyday life and the execution was designing a mural.

For the word responsibility my concept was “Intentional Indulgence”. For the exicution of my concept, I designed wine labels for a 0% alc, wine. And it’s all about making responsible choices without giving up on fun, or those great moments with friends.

For the word freedom, my concept was “Threaded Identity”. it’s ment to represnt the freedom we have to express individuality through clothing, transforming fashion into our own canvas for identity. Whether it’s bold colors that scream confidence, comfy sweats that feel like home, or a mix of styles that tell your story, it’s your choice. Fashion becomes a silent language, where the freedom to choose our attire allows us to communicate our identity and creativity without ever saying a word.
